Brigandine Abyss Beginner Guide

A source-led six-step starting point for campaign choice, seasonal planning, squad building, hex battles, and stronghold development.

Quick Answer: Start with a Story campaign if you want a guided route through one of six factions. During each season, organize leaders and monsters, develop strongholds, use Exploration for resources, choose an invasion target, and then fight on a turn-based hex grid.

1Choose a first mode

Story Mode gives you six faction campaigns. Mission Mode offers 24 nations with their own goals and challenges; those nations are not presented here as 24 additional full Story campaigns. For a first run, read the active objective and let it determine which leaders, monsters, and resources need attention.

The official introduction frames the game around a new continent and its conflict with the New Abyssloa Empire.

2Work through each season

The practical loop is to organize your forces, develop what you can, choose an attack target, and resolve the battle. Recruit or assign leaders, arrange monsters, apply class changes where available, and equip weapons or armor before committing a squad.

3Build around Rally traits

The supplied beginner evidence describes Rally as a leader action that absorbs an adjacent monster that has not acted yet, granting the leader a passive effect while that monster gives up its normal action. The examples cover movement, healing, MP, knockback, and counter-related effects; exact higher-tier values are not confirmed in the supplied material.

A leader can command up to 5 monsters. Start by giving each slot a clear job, then check whether the squad can still move, support, and protect its leader.

4Prepare and fight safely

Brigandine Abyss uses turn-based hex battles. Check terrain, elevation, movement limits, ranges, affinities, and support before confirming a move. Protect the leader, avoid leaving a border empty without a reason, and make the objective your first priority rather than chasing every available target.

5Use quests and strongholds

Leaders who are not deployed can use Exploration to gain resources, money, and experience. Quests can provide equipment, materials, experience, or class-change items. Strongholds use materials for upgrades and bonuses, while merchants provide weapons and armor.

  • Send useful reserve leaders on Exploration.
  • Spend materials with the next objective in mind.
  • Buy equipment when it solves a specific weakness.

6Sources and limits

This page was checked against the supplied research on August 30, 2026, including the Steam store page, NIS America, and the OSLink beginner guide. It does not claim a complete monster list, a definitive early-game ranking, exact Rally scaling, multiplayer, or that older advice transfers unchanged.
